The most famous of Ethiopia's coffees is "Yirgacheffe" grown in the area around the town of Yirga Cheffe near Lake Abaya in the Sidamo district south of the capital of Addis Ababa.  Coffees from the Yirgacheffe growing region are the most distinctive in the world characterised by a thick, rich body, a winey acidity and an intense floral aroma of cinnamon and sweet strawberries.
