This highly-prized coffee is produced in the Kona coffee region which is concentrated in a narrow corridor stretching around 30 miles between the mountain communities of Holualoa and Honanunau on the flank of Mauna Loa in Hawaii.  This is known at the Kona coffee "belt" where a combination of factors makes for superb coffee growing conditions; rich volcanic soil, an ideal elevation of about 335 metres and a gentle climate.

Hawaii's varied climate: bright mornings, humid afternoons and mild nights contribute to a bean that grows at just the right pace and temperature.  The result is a very rich coffee, full of sparkle, lightly acidic and with a medium body and winey, spicy undertones.
