Here at CC we love Rwandan coffees and therefore are very picky. This Kinini AA ticks all the boxes: delicious, fantastic to roast & from a wonderful estate. There is a classically sweet body & depth of a top grade Rwanda. There are notes of tangerine and syrup with a crisp acidity and lingering mouthfeel. Silky coffee.

The Kinini Washing Station is located in the district of Rulindo at 2000+ m.a.s.l. This is a Fully Washed coffee using Bourbon, BM139, BM71 and Jackson varietals. The AA Microlot lot is a separation from farmers currently using the Kinini washing station, chosen from trees at altitudes of 2000masl and above, and with screen size 16+.

In 2012, 38 of the 252 hectares in the Northern Province of Rwanda were planted with Bourbon Mayaguez 139 seedlings, 2,000-2,500 in each hectare. This totalled nearly half a million new trees, and access to nurseries and supply of new trees continues.

Coffee is picked and brought to the Kinini washing station where it is separated from the other lots to be treated depulped using a four disc McKinnon pulper and fermented from between 5 to 20 hours, depending on the decision of the quality manager monitoring the fermentation.

The coffee is then sun dried for an average of 15 days, depending on the intensity of the sun.
